Can’t find what you want at the UBC Library?
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) will order it for you from another Library.

Please note:
- Delivery times depend on availability at other libraries. Articles can take 1-2 business days, books at least 7 business days. In some cases, it can be longer.
- Requests for items held at UBC or available online will be cancelled.
- Requests will be cancelled if they exceed what is allowed under Canadian Copyright Law
- Community Cardholders (including Alumni) will be charged a minimum of $30.00 per filled request.
Your UBC InterLibrary Loan Account
Login is required to place and track ILL requests.
- Current Faculty, Staff, and Students can log in using CWL.
- Community Cardholders, Alumni, Affiliated College Faculty/Staff, and Faculty Authorized users may request a username and password.
Place a UBC InterLibrary Loan Request
Option 1: Find and request via UBC’s General Library Search (Summon) or Worldcat
Use either tool to find a citation for the item you’re looking for. If the item isn’t part of the UBC Library’s collection, you’ll see a “Request via UBC InterLibrary Loan” link. Click to proceed an auto-filled request form, following the login prompts as you go.
Option 2: Create a new InterLibrary Loan Request
If you’re unable to locate a citation using Library Search or Worldcat, submit your request manually. Start by selecting your item type (Article, Book, or Other), then provide as much information about your item as possible.
Track UBC InterLibrary Loan Requests
Use your ILL/DocDel account in WorldCat to track the status of your active requests.
