Access information in general

The DHCC is a very wheelchair-friendly building; the BMB Library is also very accessible for wheelchairs.

Parking

Accessible by bus, HandyDart and SN Transport. Metered parking is available on nearby streets. Paid underground parking is available via Laurel Street.

Building and Library Entrance

Enter building and stay in the UBC library until closing at 4pm (M,Th,Fri) or 6pm (Tues,Weds), see BMB library hours.

Elevators

The elevators located on the main floor of the DHCC provides access to the UBC library located on the 2nd floor.

Library Website and Computers

The library website is available on all computers which are at sitting table height. Accessible with a UBC Campus Wide Login (CWL). Guest passes are available with government registered ID from the library circulation desk.

Seating

More than seventy-five (75) seats at tables and study carrels

Bookdrop

Located outside of the UBC (BMB) library entrance on floor 2 of the DHCC. There is no bookdrop outside of the DHCC.

Bookstacks

There is comfortable width between stacks (96cm) with no obstruction and spacious aisles.

Circulation Desk

Low height (30 inch) circulation desk.

Washrooms

Spacious wheelchair-friendly washrooms are available outside of the library entrance on the same floor. If needed, washrooms in the elevator lobbies on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th floors are equipped with automatic door openers.

Print/Copy/Scan

UBC Pay for Print allows everyone at the UBC library to pay for printing, copying and scanning using a unified system of payment – the UBC Card or UBC PayforPrint card. Staff are available to help if needed.

Water Fountains

Low-height drinking fountain available in hallway (not in library); also suitable for bottle refills.
