Access Information
- Parking
- Designated handicapped parking: near the bookstore or Main Library. Visitor parking: Fraser River and West Parkades. Assigned parking is available through UBC Parking and Transportation, at user request.
- Building and library entrance
- From the Main Mall (near 99 Chairs): up the ramp and through the heavy doors (automatic push-buttons installed, but not working). The library is on Level 2 and may be reached by elevator, and through a two-way swing wheelchair gate.
- Elevator
- A normal-sized elevator with brailled buttons inside. A similar elevator, inside the library, accesses the upper level.
- Library catalogue and computers
- All Library web computers are at table height.
- Book stacks
- Standard width between stacks, but not especially good for turning (80-90 cm).
- Washrooms
- There are unisex accessible washrooms on each floor.
- Photocopiers
- There are regular photocopiers on each floor, in copy-rooms.
- Public telephones
- The nearest public telephones are standard height and outside, in front of the building.
Other
- The signage is excellent.
- Drinking fountains are split-level and well recessed.
- The areas of refuge are well-marked.
- The study tables are unusually low, but some higher tables are available on the upper level.
