Wireless Printer Setup Instructions (Mac OS X)

Follow these instructions to set up wireless printing through your System Preferences.

Before you begin:

• You need to either be connected to myVPN or the ubcsecure network
• You need to know the name of the printer (the yellow label on the printer or see Complete List of Public Printers for reference)

Step 1

Click on System Preferences

Step 2

Click on Print & Fax

Step 3

Click on + sign to add a printer

Step 4

1. Click on IP
2. In the Protocol drop-down, select Line Printer Daemon – LPD
3. In the Address field, enter “printers.library.ubc.ca”
4. In the Queue field enter the printer name. See Complete List of Public Printers for reference.

Tip: to print in colour, type in "-LC" at the end of the name e.g. "WOODWARD-LC"

5. Change the Name to the name of the printer.
6. Leave Location blank.
7. In the Print Using drop-down, select Generic Postscript Printer,
8. Click the Add button

How To Print

After sending your print job, you need to type in "grizzly" from the print release station.
