Doing research outside of UBC?

We’re here to help! Current UBC students, faculty and staff can access licensed Library resources including Journals A-Z , Indexes & Databases and other resources from off-campus computers. All you need is a valid Campus-Wide Login (CWL) or UBC Library Card.

Not a UBC Patron? Community Borrowers, Alumni and members of the public have access to these unrestricted databases.

Beginning January 2013, myVPN will no longer be available as a mode of remote access to the Library’s online resources. EZproxy will become the only method of remote authentication to Library e-resources. Visit the FAQ for more information about this change.

EZproxy

To get instant access, all you need to do is start your research from the UBC Library web site. No setups required!

When accessing a journal or database, EZproxy will automatically determine whether you are a valid UBC patron. If it cannot determine you are valid, it will simply ask you to provide your login credentials (i.e. CWL or Library Barcode/PIN).
