Visiting Faculty With Visiting Appointments
- Visiting Faculty are appointed through UBC Faculty Relations and apply for a UBC Visiting Faculty ID card at the UBC Carding Office
- The UBC Visiting Faculty ID card serves as a library card
Visiting Scholars Collaborating With UBC Faculty Members On Research
- Visiting Scholars collaborating with UBC Faculty members on their research can request the UBC faculty member authorize them to borrow library materials and access services in their name
- UBC Faculty complete the Faculty Authorization Application Form and bring it along with one piece of government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s licence, passport) to one of the UBC Library locations listed on the form
Visiting Scholars Not Affiliated With UBC
- Faculty and students visiting from other universities may be eligible for free UBC Community Borrower Library cards through reciprocal borrowing arrangements
- Applicants apply in person at Koerner Library, Robson Square Library, or UBCO Library with one piece of government issued photo ID and proof of a local address
